Tom Tom Balls Falls

We went to my cousin John's wedding on Sat. BEAUTIFUL wedding, BEAUTIFUL day for a wedding, WAY too beautiful to be driving around for an HOUR trying to find something to do in between the wedding and reception.
We were following my dad who was using his GPS to find a place called Balls' Falls.
Needless to say, we turned around about 6 times and finally gave up and just went to the reception (which was about a 20 min drive from the church, NOT an hour) but Derek, Dave, Christel and I discovered that Balls Falls just happened to be down the road from the reception!

So we went, just to show up Mom and Dad and prove that GPS sometimes suck. hehe. It ended up that we couldn't find it either, even after getting directions, so we kinda sucked too. BUT we happened to stumble upon it while we made our way back to the reception. We had 15 minutes to spare so we basically RAN down the path til we got to the falls, QUICKLY snapped some pics and headed off. We might have arrived to the dinner just as the wedding party did, but HEY, we didn't miss anything important.

Here's some pics to prove to my parents that we made it there! Here's Balls' Falls in all it's splendiforous glory. :0)

TA DA! Here it is!

2 plus 1 baby in October

2 plus 1 more baby in December (oh, and plus 1 cameraman)

30 seconds later; time to leave.

We left these cuties behind. My good friend Julie watched them for the day/night and picked them up after the wedding. THANK YOU JULIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Da Zoo

I kinda forget the name of the zoo we went to, and I'm too lazy to look it up, but it was in Brantford. Twin Something Zoo I think. Anyway, it was pretty small, but had zebras, lions, snakes, monkeys, wolves, bears, you name it. The girls REALLY liked it, even though it was VERY chilly out. We broke out the hats and mitts just after these pics were taken. Hard to believe just a week ago we were wearing winter gear and today the girls were sweating and eating freezies at Kims'!

The first animal we saw. It didn't move much and I honestly think it was FROZEN.

Ridin' on a pony! Neither of the girls were scared, I was quite impressed!

I look like a total dork, I realize this. Look at the child, not me.

Petting some sort of creature. Not an alligator or croc, I think it's called a cayman. EW.

Petting a boa. Ew again. Look at Brooke, getting right in there. The zoo lady also brought out a tarantula. The 'mom' next to me literally RAN away when she brought it out. It was pretty funny. We got to see a lion cub and a wolf pup too.

Good times at the zoo.
Mom, we still want to go to the Toronto zoo with you. This was just a sneak preview. :0)

4 day visit!

It's been WAY too long since we've had a few days to hang out in Midland with my parents and we finally got the chance to do so! Derek had Fri-Tues off and we took off Fri morning to go visit the parentals and bros.

QUITE a fun and eventful weekend, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Learning where milk comes from.

Uncle Bobby helping Brooke do some milking. It totally felt real!

Geneva's favourite animal at Baby Acres.

Brooke's first time holding a cat.

Awwww

Brooke sharing the playground with the goats.

"Mommy, Goats like grass!"

Wait, monkeys don't belong on farms!

Feeding an orphan sheep his bottle.

Later that day with Uncle Dave!

Ready for take off!

"Look how little the houses are!"

Back on the ground! The first thing G said? "Can we go back up in the air?"
Uncle Dave is a great pilot! Thanks for taking us up Dave!!!

Flying (not quite as high) with Grandma.
Bikin with Gramps!

Yup, she actually went around the block on the bike. My dad, by the way, is Mr. Safety, but he once in a while does things that astound me...

Went to a Great Lakes Loons Game with da boys, pretty fun times despite a chilly evening and a slightly slow moving game...

On the way home, got to watch our nephew Kyle's soccer game. He scored the first goal of the season! Way to go buddy!

Wonderful Wyoming Weekend

Here's some pics Derek took this past weekend. It was a multi-reason visit to the good ol' town of Wyoming.
Here's the reasons, in no particular order of importance, although I put one of Geneva's favouritest reasons at number 1.

1. To pick up the new bike from Grandma and Grandpa Mulder (garage sale, $10!!!!!) yahoo!

2. To visit Opa and Nana, aunts, uncles, cousins!

3. For the girls to meet their new cousins for the first time, Hudson and Logan! (oops, no pics of the meeting, too cute in real life to think about camera...)

4. To meet up with Grandma and Grandpa at the John Knox Christian School in Wyomings' 50th anniversary! (that's the school Derek and I both went to. Him K-grade 8, me gr. 3-8) Just in case you wanted to know. Yup, we've known each other since we were neon clothes wearing- mulletesque hair style sporting, giggly/dorky/shy 8 year olds. (the mulletish hairstyle would have belonged to my dear husband, NOT me! hehe)

5. To see Brent and Erin, although our visit with them got 'flooded out' within the first half hour since they had to go home to rescue their babysitters, (Tante Lish and Oma) from a bit of a flooded home.... oh dear, glad the damage wasn't as serious as it coulda been guys!

The proud owner of her first 2 wheeled vehicle.
(ok 4 wheels actually)
Yes, we do realize our child is HUGE and looks WAY older than 3 and 3/4.

With Opa.
Or "Apple" as Brookie so calls him.

Checkin' out Nana's purty flowers.

Family pic with girls in their new Nana-dresses.
