Opa!

Can't believe Justin (D's nephew) is already 11! We love him lots, and he's such a neat kid. He loves to read, so being the teachery sort of girl I am, we always get him books for his b-day. He always seems glad to get them though, and for kids, it beats getting clothes, so hey, why not.
We would have had more pictures if we would have actually remembered to charge our batteries before going to Wyoming!
It was a rather spur of the moment trip, but we hate missing out on family events, so we really wanted to go, even though it was a short visit. We stayed the night at Dad and Rita's and headed back home the next morning since Derek had to work 3-11.
Happy Birthday buddy!

Growing Up!

I can't believe my baby is 7 months old! Brooke's eating cereal and veggies now (no more 10 day stretches in between changing poopy diapers for me!) She's on formula now too, only breastfeeding once or twice a day. She has 2 teeth and is getting really strong and finally rolling over lots. Still doesn't really like to be on her tummy, so no crawling in the near future yet, which I'm pretty ok with actually!
Brooke is such a happy happy little thing, she's our little peach.

Recent Renos

The new colour in the basement, no more white patchy walls! Hooray!

The old icky hardwood getting covered up by the lighter laminate. Yahoo! A year of waiting and it's finally done!

I put the girls to bed at Kim's house so the guys could make as much noise as they needed to. Kim and I scrapbooked for a few hours. We sorta felt bad for the guys, knowing how hard they were working. But only sorta. ;)

Rob, handyman extraordinaire

Derek's been working hard! He recently finished mudding, sanding, and painting our basement rec room and just last night stayed up til 1 am with our buddy Rob to put in our new laminate in the living room and dining room. It looks soooooooooooooo good and I'm so thankful that Derek is getting to be a real handy man! The house is really coming along.

Ma-ma and Untle Bobby

Grandma and Rob came for a short visit this week to get their grandaughter/niece fix. We didn't do anything too exciting, but it was a great visit anyway! Geneva ADORES them and loved having them here. I didn't mind the break either!!!

Accent Amusement

Well, with moving back and forth between Canada and the US, I've often wondered if my accent has been "impaired" or whatever you might call it. I took this random quiz called "What American accent do you really have" and my results said "You must live close to the Canadian border" hehe, it was just kinda cool. If you have a few spare moments, you lovely American friends of mine, check THIS out. :)

I loooove my sister(s?)

Ok, so the black baby isn't ours. :) It's a porcelin doll I made when I was young.

SNOW!! (finally!)

Our first trip out with the sleds! Fun to finally have some cold weather after our spring in December. Although, I'm sure we'll be complaining about it before too long... Everything here was cancelled on Monday as the roads were skating rinks! What fun. Geneva had a riot and Brooke just sat there. Probably cause she was bundled so much that she couldn't move.

Love of reading

Geneva LOVES to read. Every time I sit in the lazy boy (aka, the feeding chair) Geneva pulls the lever to put up the foot rest and up she climbs with her books. "Read this book Mommy" (ok, really it sounds like: Eed dis boot Mommy) We've been going to the library often lately cause Mommy is TIRED of reading the same books over and over. One can only read Clifford or Corduroy so many times in a row! I'm so glad she loves to be read to, and can only hope she'll love it as much when she gets older.

Brooke's firsts!

Brooke has a tooth! After about a month of my thinking a tooth was about to pop through, finally one did! I think the other bottom one will be close behind.
Also, we got Brooke's ears pierced. AHH! She actually did really well. She cried for about a minute and almost made me cry too. I made my child suffer, on purpose! But we don't regret it, and hopefully she never will either! :) We were thinking about getting Geneva's done too, but didn't really think 2 is such a great age, she'll be pulling on them and such.... Brooke doesn't really know the difference at this age. It kinda makes us wish we had Geneva's done earlier, it looks SOOOO cute! Anyway, here's a pic of her newly jewelled ears. Ok, well you can only see one of them :)
