Well, there's a first time for everything, and last night was our first experience as soccer-parents! How fun! We were a little unsure of how Geneva would do, and it did take her a little while to warm up to the idea, but she had lots of fun! It helped that her good buddy Daniel from school was on her team. (that was intentional) She was so proud to wear her purple soccer uniform, and has been wearing her new soccer shoes all month outside. She claims they maker her run faster. You should have seen her snails' pace as she went around the cones in the warm up drill. Hilarious. It was very very cute to watch the mob soccer. Mini-mob, actually since they just play 3 on 3. It's called micro soccer, and it's a very very good idea, especially for 4 and 5 year olds!

Memorial Day wkend
On Thurs we left poor Derek car-less for the weekend and headed to Gma and Gpas! What a good hubby I have. His car broke down on Weds and he still let me go. He was at home with no (motor) means of transport til Sunday. He got some good bike-time in, and we have amazing neighbours who saw he was ditched and took him places, even brought him lasagna and took him out to dinner!
Anyone looking to sell their car? :0) We're in the market for a "new" vehicle.
They each got their own turn to go around the block with Grandpa. Brave girls.

Huismans hike!
We had some long weekend visitors! Ed and Lori and the kids came up for the day on Sun. It was beautiful out and we spent most of the day outside. Mucho fun had by all.

Our new shed
These are for Grandpa who wanted to see pics of the new shed Opa built us! It's quite a bit larger than I thought it would be, but I'm so happy with the way it turned out! Derek had lots of fun working with his dad, and the two of them did an amazing job.
THANKS OPA!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're a pretty swell guy. Complete with an attic for storage, ladder, workbench and shelves inside. What a workhorse this almost senior citizen is (hehe, he's turning 65 this summer!)
p.s. I have no idea how we fit all the stuff we have in the tiny little tin shed we had!
Seeing how the inmates feel
later that hour...
end of day 1!
